I wrote, designed & illustrated my books of knitting patterns is because I was unable to find what I was looking for on the internet - I had no option but to make up the patterns myself. It was fun - and my cats have enjoyed the experience because they get new blankets to sleep on even if they are piles of mistakes.

My book, “The Fair-isle Cat” is filled with cartoon style motifs to include on your couch throws, afghans & blankets and obviously for cat lovers - these motifs express my alternative view of cats, not for their angelic poses but the reality of what moggies get up to.

Once my own home had become cluttered with these afghans it became time to turn my ideas over to you.

• Ideally you own an electronic knitting machine & can knit them up in a flash as I do.
• Or you are really nifty using the intarsia method.
• Or you are one of those experienced gems who can hand knit & follow charts with ease.

These are graph style charts - that is to say, each pattern motif chart is on squared paper. The black squares are the motif details and the blank squares are for the background colour. To help you follow the charts without having to count each and every row from the beginning, every 4th row of the charts should be read as black but is in another colour (red/green or peach).
